Meet the Current Class
A nine month B/CS Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program
Goals:
Promote and foster the development of community leaders for Brazos County
Identify and select individuals who are committed to Brazos County
Acquaint participants with the area's assets, needs and opportunities
Provide a forum to discuss community challenges with representatives from the industry, government, the media and human services
Stimulate leadership skills by providing an awareness of the continuous growth of Brazos County
Encourage and motivate participants to choose an area of interest for active involvement upon graduation from the program.
Build community leaders for today and tomorrow
Date:
Applications are available starting in May and are due by July 31. The program begins with a retreat that is held in late September. Sessions are usually held on the third Wednesday of every month, with a graduation banquet in May.
Location:
Throughout the program, the participants experience hands-on introductions into the workings of Brazos County at a variety of on-site locations.
Cost:
Tuition is $750 for Chamber members and $850 for non-Chamber members. Partial scholarships, based on need are available; contact (979) 260-5200 prior to application deadline.
Agenda:
The eight sessions include: local economy, state and local government, health and wellness, criminal justice, secondary education, arts and culture, leadership and higher education.
